The California Department of Education's accountability system, as required by Title III of the Elementary and Secondary Act, reports on English proficiency achievement objectives for English Learners
The curriculum department assists district personnel in transforming learning by rethinking teaching. Our focus on personalization and blended learning furthers our commitment to provide learners with a rigorous curriculum through innovative instructional practices based on the strengths of each learner.
Our department supports the implementation of evidence-based instruction and effective pedagogical techniques to refine our professional practice. We are engaged in an ongoing cycle of improvement through the careful use of data, reflection on problems of practice, and continual monitoring of the projected college and career readiness of our learners.
The English Learner (EL) Program ensures that limited-English-proficient students, also called English learners under California laws, attain English proficiency and meet the same challenging academic content and achievement standards that other students are expected to meet.
