Galt Listening Circles

Galt Listening Circles are dynamic focus groups made up of youth learners and adult stakeholders including parents, teachers, school administrators, board members, district staff, and the superintendent.

Listening circles are facilitated by Youth Development Network (YDN) which includes leadership and participation from the school principal and superintendent.

Youth Voice, Youth Choice

The goals of a listening circle are to:

  1. Give young youth the opportunity to express their ideas, goals, dreams, and wishes.
  2. Continuously improve the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) through youth and adult learner collaboration.

Youth Development Network envisions communities filled with youth who can achieve personal and academic success; be connected to adults and their community; have a positive vision of their future and grow up to be healthy, productive and civic-minded adults.
