Transportation Documents

Responsibilities

The Transportation Department safely operates and maintains District owned school buses which provide daily route and activity trip service for our students. It consists of 10 home-to-school routes and transports 642 students on a daily basis.

This department is a part of the Operations Department and is under the direction of:
Tom Barentson, Director of Business Services.

Bus drivers, Lisa Ostrander and Rick Hutchinson, take Lake Canyon Elementary School 6th Grade students to Ocean Beach in San Francisco for environmental education and service learning.

Mission Statement

The Galt Schools Transportation Department is a shared department of the Galt Joint Union Elementary School District and the Galt Joint Union High School District. The Galt Schools Transportation Department is a team of highly trained professionals dedicated to providing children in San Joaquin and Sacramento Counties with the safest, highest quality, transportation possible. Our most important asset is our children, whose safety and well being will always remain our top priority.

Galt Schools Transportation drivers are the best in the business - they are professionals dedicated to providing the safest and most pleasant trip possible for our children. Our drivers not only satisfy the strictest California requirements, they also exceed our own high standards in driving competence, courtesy, and thoughtfulness toward our passengers and our community.
