San Joaquin Delta College

The Galt Elementary School District’s partnership with San Joaquin Delta College began in 2010 in response to employee and community interest to add a “Workforce Development” component to the expanding Pre-Kindergarten services at the Fairsite School Readiness Center. Delta College’s president, Dr. Kathleen Hart and GJUESD Superintendent, Dr. Karen Schauer, collaborated to create a satellite campus at the Fairsite School Readiness Center.

In the fall of 2011, Delta began its first Early Childhood Education “Associate Preschool Teacher Certificate” Cohort with Dr. Vivian Harper as the instructor. In May 2013, one and a half years later, 25 district employees and community members graduated from the certificate program. Since that time, Delta College has continued to offer ECE classes in the evenings at Fairsite.

If you have questions or need additional information on Delta College's ECE classes at Fairsite, please contact:

California State University, Sacramento

The Galt Elementary School District’s partnership with CSUS College of Continuing Education began in 2013 in response to increased demands for preschool teachers to hold a Bachelor’s Degree and our Delta College Cohort’s interest in continuing their education. In the fall of 2013, CSUS began its first Bachelors of Arts in Child Development 3-year cohort program at Fairsite. Currently 20 adults (including district preschool teachers and other community members) are attending the Cohort evening classes.
